What happened to that?

I want managers to go out and pour boiling oil on their competitors to make me more money.

Nothing happened to that. This is business ethics. The values are wealth (for me) and humiliation (suffered by others) which is also valuable for me.

Generally speaking, admitting that these are your desires will not help you satisfy them, which means that as a practical (as opposed to an ethical) strategy, anyone pursuing this cousre should also choose to not value honesty as a guiding principle.
